Car traffic in cities is not decreasing. Many mobility services have been introduced to encourage citizens into walking, biking and to use public transports, but there are still challenges. We need to consider both the geographical context and the user perspective when developing new solutions for mobility, to be better adjust to the target groups.
These solutions need to better consider the knowledge of demography, socio economics, and strategies for everyday mobility. There are not enough models and experiences with the potentials for new mobility strategies outside the city centers.
This project aims to reduce the usage of cars by switching into sustainable travel- and transport alternatives. The main objectives are to (i) map out the conditions and the everyday need for mobility outside the city centers (ii) to analyze and visualize obstacles and possibilities (iii) and to convert knowledge into concepts for target group-adapted mobility services.
