Grant Description

The starting point for the project is that “transport-efficient society” is a fluid policy concept whose meaning is interpreted and understood in different ways.

How “a transport-efficient society” is defined, has consequences for the type of planning measures and policy instruments for change that are implemented. The project aims to increase knowledge about different understandings of "transport-efficient society".

By investigating, analyzing and working interactively with practitioners with visions and definitions of “transport-efficient societies”, new knowledge is generated that can facilitate interaction and adjustment.

The project aims to concretize what kind of "transport-efficient societies" municipalities, regions and state authorities strive for and how they believe it is best to get there.

The project aims to clarify conflicts of goals and interests and various choices regarding measures and instruments for planning a "transport-efficient society".
