Ancillary services, such as frequency control, voltage control, short circuit current and inertia, are required to operate the power system in an economic and secure way. The project aims to identify the ancillary services required and the amount for a future 100 % renewable power system.
The project aims to develop assessment methods and criteria to incentivize and ensure sufficient ancillary services from various resources.
The hypothesis is, as in comparison with today, not to use specific products but rather to focus on the total need of capabilities.
This by allowing resources to contribute with services based on their own abilities by developing assessment and compensation models. This enables interaction between the TSO and actors in the power system. The project utilizes digitalization and enables the flexibility and capabilities of resources in the power system.
Hence, any production as well as any consumption can contribute on equal conditions.
