Grant Description

The debate about shortcomings in electricity systems and transmission capacity in both Sweden and the rest of the world can hardly have escaped anyone.

The expansion of solar energy and wind power is good, but has been shown to have shortcomings if it is not windy or when the sun is not shining.

Pictures from the collapse in Texas with ice-covered wind turbines and snow-covered solar panels in the cold when electricity is needed the most show the problems with these energy sources.

The energy mix needs to be supplemented with a fossil-free base power that can generate electricity 365/24/7, similar to nuclear power, but without the dangers and final disposal problems. Electricity generation using geothermal energy is the solution to fossil-free scalable energy production. By converting heat from the Earth's interior, you create the basic power.

The project intends to develop an optimal solution for energy production by simulating closed systems several kilometers down into the bedrock.
