As awareness of the impact of plastics on the planet increases, so has the demand for sustainable materials. Plastic can be a sustainable alternative if it is part of a circular material flow, however, much of the plastic used today is not reused. FineCell has developed a technology for producing micro- and nanocellulose, materials that can be used, among other things, to improve the mechanical properties of plastics.
By adding the material the recycled plastic thich currently is discarded, it is possible to upcycle it to a material that can be part of new products. Since FineCell's materials can be used with very low addition, it becomes possible for the upcycled materials to be part of a circular flow of materials and be further recycled .
The current project aims to develop the value chains and go to market strategy required to bring the technology to market.
