The project aims to contribute to knowledge for planning and design of multiresidential buildings that can be adapted to new needs, while minimizing energy and resource use, when society changes or crises arise.
The project is based on four challenges: climate change, the pandemic, transition to circular processes, and the energy crisis.
Focus is on the relationship between architectural design and spatial characteristics of the home and people's behavior, and how that relationship affects energy use and resources.
The project is realized through workshops with construction industry actors about current and future homes and case studies of cutting-edge projects for sustainable housing: how they are planned, used, adapted or altered, experiences of comfort and well-being, and energy and resource flows over time.
The project is implemented by an interdisciplinary team in collaboration with networks in the business world that drive issues around the future sustainable home.
