Borehole heat exchanger (BHE) fields combine many individual boreholes for the supply and storage of heat and cold. In the RECOIN project, a new type of control system is being developed.
This system monitors the operation of such fields, regulates individual or groups of BHEs in a smart way and adapts for optimal overall system efficiency.
The most important development of the project is a flexible modeling, prediction and control procedure that will be integrated into a new control system for predictive control. The project is an international effort with partners from Germany, Switzerland and Sweden.
The focus of the Swedish partners is on the development of the modeling infrastructure instrumental to the development of the control device, on the implementation of a monitoring system and on testing the new controller at a BHEs field located at the Technical Museum in Stockholm. Testing is carried out also in Switzerland and Germany creating the basis for flexible practical use.
