Carbon Capture (CC) offers a practical solution for deep decarbonization in industry. The enzyme carbonic anhydrase, known for its efficiency in solvent CC, is central to our project. Our objective is to engineer a thermostable version of this enzyme, capable of withstanding harsh CC conditions, thereby enhancing practical viability.
Our project comprises four Work Packages: Optimizing the enzyme prototype Testing the enzyme under industrial conditions Analysing the CCUS market landscape Establishing an IP strategy
We'll leverage technologies such as directed evolution, rational design, and recombinant technologies, bolstered by an ML/AI-first approach. This will aid in designing enzyme candidates, improving success rates for CC processes over traditional methods.
Our sustainable solution holds promise to significantly cut carbon capture costs, boosting commercial viability and combating global warming.
