Batteries have both finite lifetime and limited charging rate which makes people hesitate about the technology and thus delays the necessary societal transition.
The project will through close university and industry collaboration develop new knowledge, based on new hypotheses, with the purpose of increasing the lifetime and charging rate.
The research and development are motivated by the automotive area's need for long life and fast charging, but the results are general and applicable in other application areas.
With longer life the actors can gain increased benefits from their investments in battery materials and reduce the fear and resistance against new battery-based technologies, promoting the transition to sustainable energy solutions.
The core ideas in the project will connect new actors together within industry and university and increases the number of persons that actively work and take part in the engineering of technologies for sustainable battery-based solutions.
