Design and demonstration of a process for increased use of circulated furniture

EU:s Green Deal sets high ambitions in the circular economy's action plan.

Furniture has been listed as a product where the design, manufacture, and use of more sustainable furniture contributes to the resilience of the EU economy and is a priority industry for measures.

With deep knowledge of design, behavioral science and energy issues, this project will address the challenge of increasing the circularity of furniture for office spaces.

Through a design process, a digital platform will be developed and tested by users in a real environment that increases the lifespan and thus the value of furniture, which leads to great climate benefits and reduced energy use.

The project contributes to shifting the focus to how conscious design and innovation create behavioral change towards increased climate benefit, energy-saving effects, ethical benefits when furnishing workplaces and reduced climate anxiety. Within 5-years, the project will lead to fewer CO2 emissions by 10 000 tonnes/year
