Development of the business concept ultra-thin zeolite membranes for gas separation

ZeoMem is the only company that sells single prototypes of ultra-thin zeolite membranes of industrially relevant size for gas purification.

The goal of the project is to show that the customer benefit of these membranes for purification of biogas is at least 50% lower total cost of ownership (TCO) of the upgrade compared to polymer membranes and to show that the market potential for zeolite membranes for purification of biogas is at least 500 M SEK.

In the project, a business plan shall be developed and cooperation with a customer will be established. The project is carried out in collaboration with Wärtsilä, provider of biogas treatment plants.

After successful pilot tests of the membranes (in another project), the project is expected to lead to industrial production of ultra-thin zeolite membranes in Sweden, significantly reduced costs for purification of biogas and greatly expanded production and upgrading of biogas and greatly reduced energy use in the chemical industry.
