GECO - Gamify Energy Communities

Research and direct communication with rural communities show that creating and maintaining open and accepting group dynamics has been proven to be a challenge.

We propose a design-thinking-driven project to help parishes on Gotland create and maintain effective energy communities by supplying them with relevant gamified facilitation tools that supports them in their work to develop flourishing group dynamics.

Rather than incentivizing small-scale change at an individual level by visualizing and gamifying energy and resource usage, we want to make collaborating on large-scale projects more accessible and pleasant for rural communities. This will increase the number of rural communities that succeed in starting and operating an energy community.
