Maintainance of wetlands with nutrient recovery

Wetlands have and enormous and wide function in the work with environment care.

One important aspect is that they act as traps for nutrients, without wetlands these nutrients would have flown out in waterways and here caused eutrophication.

To keep and extend this function, and to avoid that wetlands develop to solid ground, maintenance is required in form of cutting and removal of reed. Today there are no attractive methods for this.

Current project is meant to develop a new machine concept for this based on drone technology, in order to improve general maintenance of wetlands and increase the recovered amount of nutrients from them.

Need owner is Initiativ Utö, an organization with experience from the establishment and maintenance of multiple wetlands. Main part is Nordluft, a company that develops drone system based on larger drones operation in autonomous swarms.
