Fyrbodalregion for future flex

West Sweden faces a threefold increase in electricity use which puts considerable needs on the grid capacity – flexibility solutions can accelerate the transition towards a fossil free society. However, more actors need a desire and ability to contribute with flexibility. Fyrbodal is a representative, diverse region that includes electrification of energy intensive industry, high transport intensity, and room for further business establishment. “Fyrbodal for future flex” will deliver direct benefits and has a high replication potential of project results.

Strong actors are ready for innovative collaboration into real cases that with industrial research can reach goals like: - Development of local flexibility solutions with public planning perspectives (Governance). - Enable a ‘mega-establishment’ (Greenfield) with minimal increase of effect demands in Lysekil/Preem/local grid.

- Reduce 10% of peak load in an established industrial/mixed city area (Brownfield) of Trollhättan.
