Grant Description

The PREDICT project aims to develop tools and methods for assessment of energy consumption and performance, as well as the driveability of new fossil-free powertrain concepts in the early stages of the development process. Driveability and understanding how it is affected is important, because the longitudinal motion control for efficient driving is not always a comfortable or natural behavior for drivers or passengers.

The project is a collaboration between four partners, Scania, VTI, KTH and LiU, who are experts in the areas of drivability assessment, driving simulators and motion cueing, statistical and machine learning methods for correlation studies and modeling and regulation of sustainable and self-driving vehicles. The project will finance two PhD students, their supervision and the extensive tests and experiments carried out with vehicles and in a moving base driving simulator as well as in simulation environments.

The budget is 25 900 KSEK. Applied funding is 12 950 KSEK.
