The project creates conditions for an efficient electrification of large facilities with work machines and heavy transport by a quantitative understanding of how a modularly switched charging infrastructure on a large site (road construction with 50 machines, 400 trucks/day) or freight terminal (>100 vehicles) is built up towards a fully electrified fleet. The goal is availability, robustness and a 50% cost reduction.
Expected results are power electronic solutions in technical and economic terms covering converter types, modularity limits, voltage, current, power and energy levels, robustness, capacity for flexibility services, etc.
The project partners are Sustainable Innovation, Volvo Construction Equipment, Bring and Lund University of Technology. It builds on the shared experiences of the participants in several previous projects. The project starts in November 2023 and run for three years. The project costs SEK 11.2 million, half from Vinnova Nollutsläpp.
