For the electrification of working machines, the big question is how the machines will have access to electrical energy. The previous project demonstrated a modular battery swap system as an enabler for electrically powered machines in various industries. In this project, we want to take the results further and focus on the parts that take the ecosystem around the battery replacement system step by step towards the market.
The long-term goal is to come to a modular battery swap system that enables industries such as agriculture and forestry to be electrified, with the aim of drastically reducing the environmental and climate impact of the machines.
The project strengthens the Swedish automotive industry's international competitiveness by developing and demonstrating new energy-efficient and fossil-free key technology for electric machines. The project includes energy efficiency, machines in agriculture and forestry, as well as investigation of upscaling of the battery system.
