Test, verify and validate Rivus organic electrolytes in flow batteries with pilot customers

Rivus has developed organic electrolytes for flow batteries that reduce the cost and climate impact of batteries for stationary energy storage and enable a sustainable energy system. The organic electrolytes have been developed over six years at several universities and have demonstrated several advantages including low price, low climate impact and high safety.

In the project Rivus will test and validate their solution by installing a 40-75 kWh pilot battery system with a customer, preparing for an upcoming market launch. The project includes development of the product, production process and control systems, business and commercialization plan and compliance.

At the end of the project Rivus solution will be thoroughly validated with customers, standards met, and the production process and business plan finalized. This means that Rivus' RL level is raised from 4 to 6, significantly improving the prospects of attracting industrial partners, customers, investors, and financiers.
