Lithium-ion (li-ion) batteries are paramount for enabling an electrified and fossil-free society. Battery cells are manufactured 24/7 non-stop in industrial “clean rooms” and “dry rooms” under a very strict environment to avoid contamination (particles and moisture) damaging production. Keeping those rooms costs millions a year in production losses, litres of wasted water, over consumed electricity, and exposure to hazardous environments.
DREV is a sustainable cleaning solution for battery manufacturing (SDGs 3, 6, 9, 12). The novelty relies on a tailormade micro-particle canister integrable into many cleaning solutions (vacuums, dust collectors, etc) that separates chemical particles according to their type and nature, enabling cleaning without any water and recycling them for revalorisation
DREV core technology is at concept stage (TRL3) and this project aims to test and validate a first MVP with two Swedish battery producers and develop the first functional prototype (TRL 4-5)
