To face climate change and other sustainability problems, more and more countries are introducing "mission-driven" policy instruments.
These instruments shift the focus from promoting the development of individual technical solutions (or innovation in general) to achieving specific societal goals within a given time frame.
This project aims to create and spread knowledge about mission-driven policy instruments from a Swedish and international perspective, with a particular focus on “Industriklivet”.
The objective of the analysis is to make visible how policy instruments affect the dynamics and direction of the industrial transition in relation to inherent goal conflicts, the need for prioritization and emerging actor networks.
The project's primary target group is employees at governmental authorities and ministries who work with the design, analysis and follow-up of policy instruments, but are also of great relevance to other actors in the industrial transition.
