Grant Description

The purpose of this project is to contribute to the global plan on the reduction of dependency on fossil resources by efficient recycling of resource materials under circular economy concept.

The overall goal is thus to develop the knowledge that in the long term contributes to a sustainable chemical recycling of mixed plastic wastes via catalytic thermochemical conversion.

The project also aims to strengthen the economic competitiveness of the Swedish waste-handling industry by developing sustainable processes for selective production of valuable chemicals like naphtha from plastic waste materials.

This project attempts to build up relevant competence and cooperation within recycling of plastic waste into valuable chemicals of naphtha-range hydrocarbons by cooperation between RISE, Quantafuel, Hulteberg and Uponor via construction, utilization, and evaluation of reliable customized catalytic pyrolysis infrastructure.
