Mobilising for accelerated climate transition in the Gothenburg region

The City of Gothenburg is the centre for growth in the Gothenburg region, but in order to handle the climate challenge and speed up the transition to a climate-neutral city, we must act in a larger regional perspective.

To make use of its’ full capacity and development within climate and sustainability work, the city is dependent on the surrounding municipalities.

There is an unused potential within and between public organisations in the region to switch up and coordinate, in order to strenthen the capacity also in the surroundning municipalities’s transition.

This study will investigate what the existing conditions are as well as what mobilization is required for these municipalities to be able to make the journey towards climate neutrality together with the City of Gothenburg.

This study will result in basic knowledge of what the needs and conditions are for regional support, and also suggestions for strategic directions both in terms of organisation and orientation of the support.
