The project highlights climate and health as a combined driving force in climate transition.
Measuring improved health is as important as measuring reduced carbon emissions, and the project establishes a foundation for this through proactive urban planning and citizen involvement.
The aim is to accelerate climate transition in the City of Stockholm by preparing transition arenas in five designated areas.
An inventory of place-based collaborations, dialogues and initiatives in which climate and health aspects can potentially be strengthened will be conducted alongside a social accessibility analysis to identify unequal living conditions in different parts of the city, with the intention of providing greater benefits for investments and prioritizing efforts in planning, policy, and practices that contribute to both climate and health, so-called 'double duty actions'.
Another purpose is to encourage initiatives from citizens and local stakeholders to develop novel forms of collaboration.
