Grant Description

The conditions for nuclear power have changed significantly in Sweden in the last decade due to the strong increase in demand for fossil-free electricity production that is expected. The project investigates the role of nuclear power in an energy-secure and fossil-free society and evaluates various scenarios where Swedish energy, industry and economy are included.

This is partly done by an overall part that should describe the whole of sustainable nuclear power and potential goal conflicts in the energy system. The project has three focus areas that are often highlighted as the more critical and will therefore be studied in more detail: *Geopolitical conflicts, where energy crisis and war have affected the conditions in a short time

*Time perspective - long lead times affect nuclear power's role in the energy transition *Financing - uncertainty in the outside world and the structure of the market affects the pace of change. A forum for energy system analysis to better quantify scenarios is established.
