To meet the Swedish climate goals, we need to ensure that requirements for building production and urban development promote the desired development and that city districts are designed, constructed, and managed in accordance with the set requirements. Sweden aims for climate neutrality in 2045, Helsingborg strives for this as early as 2030. A new city district called Oceanhamnen is being built within the next four years and aims at achieving climate neutrality.
This project aims to promote climate-sustainable buildings and city districts by: 1) supporting the introduction of science-based requirements for new city districts, 2) evaluating the recently completed first construction phase within Oceanhamnen and improving future phases, and 3) proposing design and requirements strategies that better support climate goals. The results will be tested and implemented in Oceanhamnen in collaboration with other partners. The goal is to transform the insights into practice in future projects.
