A heat pumps is an energy-efficient alternative for heating in new construction and in existing multi-family homes.
There is, however, a potential risk that noise is or may become an obstacle to increased use of heat pumps, especially as it becomes increasingly common for houses to be constructed with wooden frames, which are more sensitive from a noise point of view.
In this feasibility study, we will examine the extent to which problems with noise arise today, as well as analyze how it will look in a future market.
With this information at hand, we intend to apply for a larger research project where the problems are studied in more detail together with several project partners with the aim of producing guidelines for installation and design.
This feasibility study will include involvement of many stakeholders in the market as well as noise measurements and survey studies at more than 2 properties. This study is also intended to enable a Swedish contribution to IEA Annex 63.
