The project is the continuation of a doctoral education at LU that was interrupted in 2019 due to administrative problems. The project is now transferred from a scientific to an artistic context, when the education ends at Konstfack, which will be used to further strengthen the interdisciplinary approach the project has had from the start.
During the initial period at LU, a method was developed to measure perceived light quality, which is based on experience from design practice and knowledge of visual perception, systematized through scientific studies. The method has been verified in several studies during the doctoral period, as well as in a parallel research project. It makes it possible to define and describe the character of a given light environment, based entirely on perceived values, and can be easily compared with photometric values.
