Participatory design methods and innovative tools, such as virtual reality (VR), can potentially facilitate the imagining and co-creation of real positive change and make the transition beautiful, sustainable and inclusive.

The project will develop and test creative techniques in Riga (Latvia), Borlänge (Sweden) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands) to meet the needs and priorities of municipalities, communities and citizens, using interactive media (such as VR/AR) and participatory design methods for to engage stakeholders.

It will support municipalities/communities and their professionals to understand citizens' needs and jointly create a sustainable urban transition by strengthening citizens' participation in decision-making processes and promoting responsible ownership to achieve a realistic goal of a climate-neutral city.
