The project aims to verify the business potential of resource-efficient production from secondary textile materials by verifying product prototypes with customers.
By exploring and evaluating the possibilities of non-woven technology to enable mechanical recycling of secondary textile raw materials, the project contributes to more environmentally friendly and sustainable textile production.
Non-woven technology offers a cost-, energy, and resource-efficient method of recycling compared to chemical recycling alternatives.
Energy saving potential when using recycled raw material is significant, and since production of new fiber are mainly in Asia, the greatest energy savings will occur there. Climate savings are also large, majority being connected to reduced transportation from Asia.
