Hydrogen plays an important role in developing a fossil-free future and will be produced in where land and solar radiation are in abundance. Ammonia is developing to become the most important energy carrier in the hydrogen sector and will be cracked into hydrogen where the need exist. Compact systems are essential for the transport sector, as cracking needs to take place on board.
Sea transport are mostly powered by fossil fuels and account for about 3 % of global CO2 emissions. Fossil-free propulsion of ships is being developed in more and more projects.
Catator has developed an ammonia cracker on prototype level together with partners, based on our unique catalyst technology, a cracker that meets the market's requirements for efficiency, size and quality. We will now complete the development of our solution and verify it together with our customer from Norway, based on the design requirements that customer has set together with shipping clients.
