Respin has developed an innovative mechanical solution for textile recycling that generates sufficiently long fibers for use in the spinning process. This technology enables efficient utilization of recycled cotton fibers, resulting in a significant reduction in energy consumption compared to virgin cotton and other recycling systems, as well as a substantial decrease in chemical and water usage.
By demonstrating this innovative technology, which reduces carbon footprint, conserves energy and resources while creating new business opportunities, the project aims to minimize waste and promote a sustainable and circular textile industry.
This initiative, with the potential to have positive impacts on the environment, economy, and society, will contribute to achieving the goals of a sustainable energy system and increased energy security within the energy sector. The project has 6 work packages and runs for 18 months with a budget of SEK 5.9 million. Requested grant is 2.9 MSEK.
