Compromising dam safety is not an option, even when weather patterns and the risks dams are facing in the future.
At the moment the project HåVa "Increased discharge capacity for safe operation of dams", project no. P2022-00079, is running at the Uppsala university. The HåVa project develops a technical solution that ensures that the power station's turbines can always be used, even when the electricity grid is not available, with the aim of adding safety and increase redundancy by spreading the risks among different solutions that are not interconnected.
This project will run in parallel with the HåVa project and aims at shortening the time to market once the HåVa project is finalized. The involvement of Magstrom Nordic AB also ensures that there is an actor in place that has the competence, ability and market contacts to bring the results of the HåVa project all the way to market.
