Buildings account for 40% of the EU's total energy consumption.
A significant part of this is generated by air filters used to create clean indoor air. 8% of a building's total energy use can be attributed to air filters specifically.
Adsorbi is a startup company that, after several years of research, has developed a cellulose-based material that can replace fossil activated carbon in air filters.
The high efficiency of Adsorbi's material enables more energy-efficient filters and can significantly reduce buildings' energy use.
In this project, experimental data will be generated to in turn build an attractive business case & value proposition for manufacturers of air filters.
