The project aims to elevate the level of a new material characterization technique pivotal to the development of new electrocatalysts for renewable energy conversion (e.g for hydrogen/water electrolyzers). This technique, iallows better understanding of electrochemical reactions.
However, in order to exploit it for electrocatalyst development, a new part, a customized electrochemical cell, has to be designed.
This electrochemical cell will allow the fitting of microelectrodes, essential to the technique operation, and allows the removal of bubbles formed in gas producing reactions, like hydrogen in water electrolyzers. The development and test of such a cell will elevate the teknique and allowing its commercialization.
Overall this project will contribute to the transition to a renewable energy based system by speeding up the development of new energy conversion catalysts.
